Wu Yee is seeking a Part-Time (24 Hours per week) Education Specialist to track and assess Early Head Start/Head Start documentation. The Education Specialist prepares presentations and provides resources to enhance teacher education and professional development.

 Responsibilities:

  • Work with management to schedule and track Child Development standardized questionnaires, assessment tools, rating scales, and scoring systems.
  •  Prepare reports to summarize classroom assessments.

  •  Create education materials, assist with training new educators, and support staff in continued professional development.
  •  Promote CDE Title V, Community Care Licensing and other best practices in early childhood development philosophies based on Head Start   Performance Standards.
  • Enter data and prepare reports using Microsoft Office and various Child Development industry applications.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements: 

  • Must be available Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:30 am - 4:30 PM.
  • AA degree
  • 24 ECE units
  • California Child Development Teacher Permit, preferred.
  • 3 years of teaching experience as an early childhood educator.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to learn Child Development standardized questionnaires, assessment tools, rating scales, and scoring systems.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
